LMDC

We got free tickets to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center (LMDC) in Gulfport, MS to see Dora the Explorer this past month. Since Bobby was off today we decided to take Parker to see Dora and find out what all the hype was. The LMDC is considered one of the top 50 children's museums in the US and I have to say it lives up to it's reputation. Although the Dora show was not the greatest, the museum was really, really neat! Parker had a great time! They do a wonderful job of having enough things to do for children of all ages so there was plenty for him to get into. I wish I had taken more pictures but the batteries were going dead so I did pretty good to get what I got. I'll try to get more pictures when we go back at the end of Sept. to see Bob the Builder!

This is the train exhibit, one of many!

Leave it to Parker to be where all the food is, even if it was fake.

A Day at the Park

We haven't been able to go to many playdates in the last couple of weeks with Parker and I both being sick so I decided we needed to get out of the house today! Parker loves going to the park so we loaded up this morning and went to Lavretta Park. It is my absolute favorite park in Mobile! If you haven't been and you have a little guy or gal I definitely recommend it!
Here are a few pictures!

Lavretta Park

Climbing the Rock Wall

Are you coming?

Can you see me!?

Getting ready to go down the slide!

In the car on the way home. Boy was it HOT out there!

Oasis Out Back

Although my back yard is a far cry from what I want it to be, we have made great strides back there since we moved in. There are a couple of spots that I would definitely consider my favorites and I've been visiting them a great deal this spring! My first is the spot next to our little pond. The lilies have been blooming like crazy and I just love to sit there and admire them as I listen to the waterfall trickle!

My second favorite spot would be sitting in the swing between our two gardenia bushes. The bushes are in full bloom right now and they smell SO GOOD!!!

Look at these branches! The are sagging under the weight of all the blooms!

Parker decided to join me for a sniff and a swing!

And like just that he's off again....probably to find Lilly a stick!

The Neatest Blog ever!

I've found one of the neatest blogs I've ever seen (if you don't feel the same way, well all I can say is I'm a stay at home mom and it really doesn't take much to excite me these days!). Actually, I can't say I found it....more like someone told me about it, but I checked out by myself! Does that count?

Anyways, the http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/ is basically a chronicle of one woman's life on a working ranch that she shares with her husband and their four children. I know what you're thinking....BORING, but I promise it is a far cry from boring! Her stories are hilarious and most of the time there are many, many pictures to go along with them, not to mention her photography is really good! I could sit and read her posts for hours! Bobby says I'm stalking her but I say its not stalking if she's putting it out there for everyone to read...so, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

She also has a cooking section where she posts some really great recipes! Each one has pictures to go along with ever step of the recipe. It is the neatest way I've ever seen someone put a recipe together! I wish I could be so creative!

Don't be afraid, check it out!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Well, I have to say I had a pretty great 2nd Mother's Day! For starters Bobby let me sleep in which for those of you who don't have children let me just say that could've been my only gift and I would've just fine with that! Bobby did a wonderful job at entertaining Parker until I woke up, I never heard a peep out of him! When I finally awoke from my deep slumber it was 9:30! Bobby said "Must be nice to sleep so late." I just smiled at him and said "Father's Day will be here before you know it!"

Parker and I were both sick so we didn't go to church but we still went out for lunch. I told Bobby I wanted Mexican and although he is not usually a big fan of the Mexican food, he sucked it up and we went to Sabor a Mexico (my fave by the way)! After lunch we went shopping for my second Mother's Day gift - a new STOVE!!!!

For those of you who were not familiar with the condition of my old stove lets just say the pilgrims probably had better equipment to cook on!

Now, as I said before that was my second Mother's Day gift! My first, and really official, Mother's Day gift is a monogramming machine!!!!

I've wanted one for sometime so when I came across it I just couldn't pass it up! It took a little convincing but in the end I was able to talk Bobby into getting it for me! He's such a sweetie! Anyways, for the rest of the day Bobby let me play with my machine and sew! All and all it was a WONDERFUL Mother's Day! Oh, and we can't forget the most important reason for me to even have such a wonderful day, my precious boy!!!

Nothing can describe how he makes me feel! He is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me and I thank God everyday for choosing me to be his mother! I feel completely blessed that He had enough confidence in me to entrust one of his pericous children into my care! I pray daily that God will lead me to shape and guide Parker into the person that He would have him be!

A little Cool Down

As many of you know it can get mighty hot down here in the summer and although we're not quite there yet, it is rather unseasonably warm this spring. Saying this, I think Parker has found a great way to keep cool during these hot summer months ahead!
